The Summer Food Challenge
Perhaps the best thing that the City of Vancouver could have done was repeal the 1978 law that banned all street food other than chesnuts (who eats those anyways), hot dogs (ok so Japa dogs are supposed to be amazing but they are still hot dogs) and popcorn (who sells popcorn on the street seriously?)! As the City of Vancouver aims to be the leader in food carts on the West Coast of North America, I have decided that my summer challenge is to try food from each cart - 103 food carts - 3 months - can I do it?!
For me to consider this challenge a success I will need to fulfill the following criteria
a) Try at least 1 item from each menu
b) Try at least 50% of the carts between May and September
c) If available
c) Drag some people along for the ride
Here's some more information on the trucks http://www.insidevancouver.ca/2012/03/06/vancouver-food-carts-12-new-vendors-to-arrive-in-march/
I hope you join me as I blog about my adventure - 1 person, 103 trucks, 3 months - can I do it?!
